Bungee Cord for Tesla Car Cover
The EVANNEX Car Cover for Tesla Model 3, Model Y and Model S has elasticized front and rear bottom borders to ensure that it stays in place. However, sustained high winds may cause it to loosen. In such cases, we recommend our custom bungee cord, designed to fit the grommets in the middle of the bottom side edge of the car cover, pass under the vehicle, and secure the cover when high winds are encountered. If you live in a high wind area, our bungee cord is a nice complement to your car cover.
Description
The EVANNEX Car Cover for Model 3, Model Y and Model S has elasticized bottom border to ensure that it stays in place. However, sustained high winds may cause it to loosen. In such cases, we recommend our custom bungee cord, designed to fit the grommets on the bottom sides of the car cover, pass under the vehicle, and secure the cover when high winds are encountered. If you live in a high wind area (e.g., near the ocean or at high elevations), our bungee cord is a nice complement to your car cover.
The bungee cord is constructed of heavy duty elasticized fabric with high strength ABS plastic hooks at each end. One hook fits into the grommet in the middle of the lower side of the car cover, the bungee cord is then passed under under Model 3, Model Y or Model S, and the other hook is attached to the grommet on the opposite side of the car cover. Once in place, the bungee cord will help to hold the car cover in place during sustained high winds.
FAQ
Do I need to use the bungee cord in normal weather conditions?
No. Our elasticized lower front and rear car cover edges will allow the car cover to remain in place during calm, light, and moderate wind conditions. The bungee cord should be used when wind speed rises above 20 mph, a relatively rare event in most areas.
Is the bungee cord easy to install and remove?
Yes. First, place the car cover on the car. Simply push the bungee cord hook into and through the plastic grommet in the middle of the lower side edge (between the front and rear doors); push the cord under the car and from the opposite side, pull the cord through to the other side. If you have short arms, you can fashion a metal coat hanger to use as a ‘hook’ to grab the cord and pull it across. Then push the bungee cord hook into and through the plastic grommet in the middle of the opposite lower side edge (between the front and rear doors). Your car cover is now more secure in high winds. To remove the bungee cord, simply unhook the cord from the side grommet and pull the cord under the vehicle to the other side. Remove the hook from the grommet and you’re done
What do you mean by high winds, and will the car cover and bungee stand up to REALLY high winds, say 40 mph+?
By “high winds” we mean between 20 and 35 mph. Car covers from any source are not designed to withstand storm force winds.
Does the bungee cord come in other colors?
The bungee cord is available in red only.
How long does it take to receive my bungee cord order?
The EVANNEX Bungee Cord usually ships within 24 business hours of receipt of order. Delivery time depends on your location relative to South Florida and is typically within three (3) days for the continental U.S.
Does the bungee cord ship to international destinations?
Yes, the bungee cord ships internationally.
